Three-Pass Fire-Tube Boiler Design

First Pass — Furnace

Fuel is burned inside the corrugated furnace. Radiant heat is transferred directly through the furnace wall to the surrounding water. The corrugated design also accommodates thermal expansion during operation.

Second Pass — Smoke Tubes

After leaving the furnace, the flue gas reverses through the wet-back turnaround chamber and enters the first smoke-tube bundle. The water-cooled rear turnaround helps reduce heat loss and thermal stress.

Third Pass — Final Heat Transfer

The flue gas reverses again at the front smoke box and passes through the second tube bundle before leaving the boiler. An economizer can be added where additional flue-gas heat recovery is required.

Q: How do I know whether I need a condensing boiler?

A: Condensing boilers provide the greatest benefit when return-water temperatures are sufficiently low for substantial flue-gas condensation. This is more common in low-temperature heating systems and some domestic hot water applications. If your return-water temperature remains high, a conventional high-efficiency boiler with an economizer may be more suitable.

Q: What is the typical manufacturing lead time?

A: Standard gas- or oil-fired boilers up to approximately 7 MW typically require 30–45 days after technical specifications and production drawings are confirmed. Larger boilers, customized systems, ASME-related projects, and more complex packaged systems may require approximately 45–60 days.

Q: Can the boiler operate automatically?

A: Yes. The boiler can be equipped with PLC-based automatic control, burner modulation, safety interlocks, alarms, and fault monitoring.

Q: Do you supply burners and pumps?

A: Yes. Burners, pumps, and other auxiliary equipment can be supplied or coordinated as part of the boiler package according to fuel type, flow requirements, pressure, control interface, and customer specifications.

Q: Can the boiler integrate with a BMS?

A: Yes. The control system can be configured for BMS integration using Modbus, BACnet, or other agreed communication protocols, subject to the selected PLC and project requirements.
